Richard J. Stride, Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Stride has worked in Community Mental Health since 1996 both as a Clinician and Director/Administrator. He holds a doctoral and master’s degree in Psychology and well as an MBA in Healthcare Management. He served in the USAR in the Medical Service Corps in a Combat Stress Control Unit from 1999-2008. While in the USAR he obtained the rank of Captain and was the Executive Officer for his unit.

Dr. Stride is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado. He is very active in his local community, from being a board member on several local boards, to being an active member of the Chehalis Rotary club.  He enjoys speaking and educating the community on mental health, and substance use disorders. Dr. Stride believes his main job as CEO is “taking care of our staff who are deeply dedicated to this work. He goes on to say, “Our wonderful, caring staff, are truly the greatest asset we have.”

In his leisure time he enjoys, reading, writing, and playing guitar. Dr. Stride and his wife Connie enjoy bike riding, hiking, and traveling.

Matt Patten, VP & Chief of Operations

Matt has served in a variety of positions since starting at Cascade in 2002; including crisis services, clinical manager, and clinical director before taking over the position of chief operations officer. He is a Lewis county resident, with string ties in the community. His wife is a lifelong resident of the county, and his three step children all graduated from local schools. He is a child mental health specialist, with a variety of work experiences including outpatient, in patient, and educational settings. His personal goal is to improve the overall health of Lewis county residents is evident as he also serves on local community boards.

Matt holds a Master of Science from western Oregon/Oregon state university in counseling and has been in the helping profession for over 30 years.

Trish Geist, VP & Director of Clinical Services

Trish has worked at Cascade Community Healthcare since 2016 in a variety of roles; adult services clinician, adult services manager, and currently the Vice President and Director of Clinical Services. She holds a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from Saint Martin’s University and has worked in Behavioral Health since 2004. She began her career working with the Human Response Network until 2006 and eventually in 2007 transitioning to Washington State Juvenile Rehabilitation services.

Trish is a Lewis County resident who attended local schools as a youth eventually graduating from Centralia High School. She is an inspirational leader who leads individuals, teams, and projects unwavering integrity and dedication. With a proven ability to quickly acclimate, ascend and become a positive and contributing force in an organization. She is an adept communicator with blended experience learned through a variety of jobs in counseling, mediation, advocacy, public relations, marketing, financial, organizational psychology, and criminal justice. Her goal is to strive towards engaging life in all forms, challenging conventional thoughts, systems, and engaging opposing philosophies to transform individuals and communities to success.

Sarah Kimball, VP & Director of Human Resources

Sarah started her journey with Cascade in 2002. Hired as an Administrative Assistant, she was soon transferred into the position of Accounts Receivable Clerk. After 14 years of billing, Sarah was ready for a different kind of challenge, and transferred into the role of Assistant Manager for Administration and Operations. A year later, she was promoted to Human Resources Manager and then eventually VP & Director of Human Resources.

Sarah is grateful to be part of an organization that is dedicated to helping people. She believes people are the most important and valuable part of Cascade.

Sarah has a Bachelor’s of Science in Management degree and is currently enrolled in a Master’s Program for Organizational Leadership. She is a life-long resident of Lewis County and a graduate of Centralia High School (GO TIGERS!) and Centralia College. Sarah and her family love to travel; exploring places close to home and also boarding planes for those far away adventures.
