Cascade Executive Team:

Dr. Richard J. Stride, Psy.D., MBA, LPC, LMHC

President and Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Richard Stride has been with Cascade Community Healthcare since December of 2013. He has worked in community behavioral health since 1996. He started out as a Child and Family Therapist in Denver Colorado. He then worked for Aurora Mental Health in Crisis Services, in Aurora Colorado. He came to Washington State, in 2000 with the United States Army Reserve in a Combat Stress Control Unit. He was the Executive Officer for his unit in Seattle. In 2003, he moved into the role of Clinical Director for Chelan Douglas Behavioral Health for several years and then as Clinical/Operations Director for Catholic Family and Child Services in Wenatchee Washington. Dr. Stride then moved into the role of President and Chief Executive Officer for Cascade Community Healthcare in Centralia Washington in 2013.

As CEO, Dr. Stride directs and provides overall oversight for programs, services, operations as directed by the Board of Directors. Dr. Stride, his Executive Team, and the Board work together to enhance/advance services while creating a supportive, caring environment for staff.

Sarah Kimball, MA

Chief People Officer

Sarah started her journey with Cascade in 2002 as an Administrative Assistant. Sarah then transferred into the position of Accounts Receivable Clerk and was there for 14 years. Ready for a different kind of challenge, she was promoted to Assistant Manager for Administration and Operations. A year later, Sarah found her way to Human Resources moved into the role of Human Resources Manager; then VP & Director of Human Resources and now serves as Cascade’s Chief People Officer.

Sarah is grateful to be part of an organization that is dedicated to helping people. She believes people are the most important and valuable part of Cascade.

Sarah has a Bachelor of Science in Management degree and a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from California Coast University. She is a life-long resident of Lewis County and a graduate of Centralia High School (GO TIGERS!) and Centralia College. Sarah and her family love to travel, exploring places close to home and boarding planes for those far away adventures.

Leann Reed, MA, LMFT, LMHC, CMHS

Chief Operating/Clinical Officer

Leann joined Cascade Community Healthcare in 2013 as a child/adolescent therapist prior to her move into Quality Improvement, becoming the program Director in 2020 where she led the implementation of the Certified Community Healthcare Clinic Expansion grant (CCBHC-E), a two-year $4 million dollar grant which expanded behavioral healthcare services in Lewis County. In 2021, she was promoted to Chief Clinical Officer. Leann founded Healing Hooves of Love Miniature Therapy Horses, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, in 2014, and enjoys providing miniature horse therapy work in schools, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes.

Leann holds a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and a Child Mental Health Specialist.

Roy-Schlegel

Dr. Roy Schlegel, MD

Chief Medical Officer

Roy Schlegel, MD oversees Cascade’s Medical program. A Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, he has been providing care to families over the southwest Washington region and has been associated with Cascade for more than 16 years; he’s been Medical Director since 2016 and is now Chief Medical Officer.
Cascade’s medical team provides diagnostic psychiatric evaluations, treatment and clinical team consultations, and prescribing and medication monitoring for clients across Cascade’s many clinical programs, including outpatient and wraparound services for children and adolescents; outpatient and PACT services for adults; adult inpatient services and crisis stabilization unit; jail services; substance use disorder treatment, including medication-assisted treatment; and primary care services.

Dr. Schlegel earned his MD from the University of Colorado and completed psychiatric training, including a child and adolescent fellowship, from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He is board-certified in child and adolescent psychiatry and in general psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Mindful of Cascade’s mission and aware of the ongoing shortage of child and adolescent psychiatrists, in addition to his CMO duties he continues to provide psychiatric care to children and families at Cascade Community Healthcare, at Wahkiakum Behavioral Health, and at Willapa Behavioral Health. Since 2011, he has also been committed to teaching future doctors; through Pacific Northwest University, he has been precepting osteopathic medical students as adjunct clinical faculty, advancing in 2020 to clinical assistant professor.

Mindy Greenwood

Chief of Inpatient Services and SUD Officer

Mindy has worked in Substance Use services for the last 23 years, working in many different capacities for clients in her community. She has worked as a Clinician, Program Coordinator, Treatment Agency Owner, Director of services for Substance Use and Supportive Employment for Cascade Community Healthcare and is Currently Chief of Inpatient Services and SUD Officer for Cascade Community Healthcare. Mindy has been invited over the years to many events to talk about how she structures her programs and educates the public about Substance Use and how those that suffer from it can become productive citizens. She was Co-Chair of the legislative subcommittee in integrating Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder in the Behavioral Health Organization (BHO). In 2015 she merged her treatment agency with Cascade Community Healthcare as she saw the need for Mental Health and Substance Use treatment to integrate. It is important to her to work with the community and to help those that are suffering from a Substance Use diagnosis be able to obtain the resources that they need to help them be successful in recovery. Supported Employment is one of those resources that help our communities be healthy and those that suffer from Mental Health and Substance Use be able to enhance their recovery by finding employment. Mindy believes in the work that Cascade does and is excited to be part of the future of Cascade Leadership team.
