Clubhouse Program
The Clubhouse program is based on an International Model of service delivery for those who are currently clients of Cascade. Each Member must have a history of a mental health diagnosis, who would like to belong to a remarkable group of people with similar histories, who develop and run the Clubhouse as Members. The Clubhouse International Model is ran based on preset guidelines, however, how it is shaped under those guidelines, is entirely up to Members. Our goal is to have the Clubhouse completely Member ran someday!
Currently, our Members have developed ART Groups, Poetry Groups, and a Wellness Plan to bring food to the Clubhouse Members and to teach Members how to prepare the donated food. The Clubhouse offers the Free Store where donations of clothing, shoes and some household goods are distributed to Clubhouse Members in need. The Clubhouse is a great way to meet new people and socialize, and also serves another function. The Clubhouse can also be used as a stepping stone to find meaningful employment and education. Our Supported Employment team at Cascade, dedicates time each week, just for the Clubhouse, to assist members with identifying what options for education and employment are available, based on a Member’s unique needs.
To become a Member, you must be an open Cascade client. A person can stop by the Clubhouse during business hours and ask to participate. We have new Members fill out an application and sign an Oath of Confidentiality. Once a person becomes a Member, they have full access to whatever services are offered and can participate as much as they would like to.
Currently, the hours of operation for the Clubhouse is 8 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday, with a fun group practicing music and poetry from 4 to 6 pm on Wednesdays. The Clubhouse is also open on Saturdays for activities like hiking, watching movies with popcorn, learning to sew and creating crafts. The hours on Saturday are from 9 am to 2 pm. Stop by and join us for good times and healthy interactions with peers!
