Biography

Dr. Richard J. Stride has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Cascade Community Healthcare since 2013. A Licensed Mental Health Counselor with nearly three decades of experience, he began his career as a Child and Family Therapist in Colorado and later served in the U.S. Army Reserve’s Combat Stress Control Unit in Seattle. Before joining Cascade, he held clinical and operational leadership roles in behavioral health organizations throughout Washington State.

As CEO, Dr. Stride leads with compassion, accountability, and innovation. He believes leadership is about people—helping staff grow, fostering teamwork, and ensuring that everyone feels valued and supported. His approach to behavioral healthcare emphasizes respect, collaboration, and the conviction that hope, and healing begin with understanding.

Personal Life

A lifelong learner and student of history, Dr. Stride values the lessons that come from both reflection and experience. He and his wife, Conni, make their home in the Pacific Northwest, where family, faith, and community remain at the heart of his life and writing.
