Why NARCAN® Matters

NARCAN® (naloxone) is a medication that can temporarily reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. It helps restore normal breathing when someone has slowed or stopped breathing due to opioids. NARCAN® is safe to use, even if the person isn’t sure what caused the overdose, and it can be administered quickly by bystanders. Having it nearby can mean the difference between life and death—giving someone time to get the care they need.
