Striving to Help the Community Recover and Thrive!

Part of Cascade Community Healthcare

Clubhouses offer people living with a mental health illness opportunity to create friendships, gain employment skills, housing opportunities, education, and creative expression. Clubhouses began at Fountain House in New York City in the late 1940s and has morphed into an evidence-based model that is recognized internationally. The model provides an intentional community that offers a safe place to gather, meaningful work, meaningful relationships, and a place to return for program participants, known as members.

What are the members saying about us?

“Many of us have had to rise from the ashes of adversity to claim a new life of recovery, strength, and stability. Together we shake off the ashes of an old life and begin to fly in strength and purpose.”

   – Phoenix Clubhouse Member

“It is a safe place to come to be with people. We can share our different journeys and find solidarity and support.”

   – Phoenix Clubhouse Member

“Before we are schizophrenics, or behavioral therapist, or manic-depressive, or commissioners of mental health, we are all simply human beings.”

   – Robby Vorspan,
International Clubhouse

How to become a member:

You are eligible to become a member if you are 18+ years old and have a history of having a mental illness.

  1. Complete a referral form and turn it into Clubhouse staff. Referrals can be completed by anyone from a behavioral health agency, family, friend, or self.
  2. Once Clubhouse staff receive the referral, they will contact the individual to schedule a tour and orientation.

If the individual has already received a Mental Health assessment from Cascade Community Healthcare (Ie. Already assigned to an Outpatient Program at Cascade), then they are done and can begin utilizing the Clubhouse. If the individual does not have a completed Mental Health assessment from Cascade Community Healthcare, they will be asked to complete one within 2 weeks of orientation.
