Striving to Help the Community Recover and Thrive!
Part of Cascade Community Healthcare
Clubhouses offer people living with a mental health illness opportunity to create friendships, gain employment skills, housing opportunities, education, and creative expression. Clubhouses began at Fountain House in New York City in the late 1940s and has morphed into an evidence-based model that is recognized internationally. The model provides an intentional community that offers a safe place to gather, meaningful work, meaningful relationships, and a place to return for program participants, known as members.

What are the members saying about us?
“Many of us have had to rise from the ashes of adversity to claim a new life of recovery, strength, and stability. Together we shake off the ashes of an old life and begin to fly in strength and purpose.”

“Before we are schizophrenics, or behavioral therapist, or manic-depressive, or commissioners of mental health, we are all simply human beings.”

Clinical Program Director
Hello, my name is Amber! I have been with Cascade since 2015. I started as a Clinical Aide working with the Hospital Diversion House and moved into the Behavior Support Specialist role with the Expanded Community Services (ECS) Team. In 2017, I moved into a manager role within the ECS team and with that role means I had to take a step back from directly working people. This is why I love being involved with the Clubhouse. The Clubhouse gives me the opportunity to work directly with people again in an environment that is member focused. It’s been fun to see our members blossom and share their unique strengths with one another.
Zach Hanke, CPC
My Name is Zach Hanke and I am a Certified Peer Counselor with cascade community health care. I’ve been in the mental health field since 2016. I spent 3 years NAMI as a program leader, the rest of the time has been with cascade in multiple positions including working inpatient as well as the Lewis county mobile crisis team, I’ve always tried to live my life by the Tao of “Be the change you want to see in the world” and believe everybody has the ability to grow into the best versions of themselves and have devoted the past years of my life helping people achieve that, however that may look. Music and Art also play a big part of my life and I use that passion to facilitate the music group on Tuesdays at the clubhouse, I’m always willing to teach people guitar and to aid them in reaching their musical goals. some future goals of mine. I would like to pursue becoming a certified Peer Counselor trainer for the state as well as continuing education as a peer counselor. Come down to the clubhouse and get to know the staff!
Aaron Neldon, CPC
Hello, my name is Aaron Neldon and I am a certified peer counselor at the Cascade Phoenix Clubhouse.
I have been working for Cascade for about Since June 2022, and really love working with the other staff here. I am so fortunate and thankful to be working with them. We have a great team here and I have learned and continue to learn so much.
As a certified peer counselor, I get to work with many individuals in the community who have struggled or are currently struggling with mental health challenges. I love being a part of the recovery process for the members of the Phoenix Clubhouse, and to see the progress our members achieve is very rewarding.
I am a graduate of the Lewis County Mental Health Court and the Cascade SUD program, and I know that stability and recovery are possible-not just for me but for anyone. It is my belief that recovery isn’t a destination but rather a journey that lasts a lifetime. It feels great to join others on a part of their personal journey and to cheer them on as they overcome some of the obstacles in their path and grow stronger by doing so.
When I start each day, I am excited that I get to go to work because I am passionate about working with my peers who are striving to become a better version of themselves.
Working at the Cascade Phoenix Clubhouse has instilled in me a sense of purpose and has given me an opportunity to learn and to grow as I travel on my own path of recovery.
Amber Norris
C CPC
Hello, my name is Amber Norris
I have been working in the Mental Health field for a little over four years, and have worked for Cascade since 2019. I shared time between the ETC, the Lewis County Mobile Crisis, and, now at the clubhouse. I am excited to continue my career at the Clubhouse and to partner with the individuals that we serve. I am a family-oriented person and spend my days watching my children play sports. One of my favorite quotes comes from one of my favorite actors, “Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always.” – Robin Williams.
